Me and my fiancé had a great time scuba diving with our instructor Jonathan! It was my fiancé’s first time and he did a great job at preparing her and making her feel comfortable. We had a great experience and we're able to see lots of cool sea life! Definitely would recommend Ola ParaDive!

I was lucky when I booked with Johnathan! He was very communicative and when we prepared he was very knowledgeable, experienced, and made me feel safe. It had been 10 years since I got certified and he explained everything so well.

During the dive he was centered, grounded and an amazing dive master. He knows the terrain. I did 3 dives in 5 days with him at 3 different locations. I will only ever dive with him while I’m on Oahu!!!!

Second time diving with Jonathan, brought my sister and Dad who were first time divers along with and they absolutely loved it!!! They had trouble suspending themselves in the water but Jonathan quite literally took them by the hand and allowed them to fully experience scuba diving and see the marine life. My husband and I had a phenomenal experience with Jonathan! We booked the certified diver boat dives and rented all the equipment. All equipment worked really well and he took the extra time to ensure we defogged before each dive.

He was attentive and did a great job pointing out all the sea life! He guided us through large shipwrecks, beautiful coral, and maritime fauna. Would recommend!

We had an amazing time diving with Jonathan and April at Shark’s Cove. Jonathan is good at explaining skills to beginners and ensures safety and pleasure. Definitely recommend it to beginner divers.

Johnathan couldn't have been better. Even though it was a last-minute scheduling, he worked with us to get the most out of our dives and helped us through most of the paperwork.

The day of our dive, the roads were closed due to a race and we missed the bus. Did this stop us from diving? No—after a quick phone call, Johnathan rescheduled us for later that day.

When we got in the water I became a little nervous, as this is my husband's hobby, not mine. Johnathan was able to calm me down and I had a really great time and now am looking forward to diving again.

I dived the day after I arrived in O'ahu and we did 2 dives, one deep on Seatiger Shipwreck Dive and one on the reef.

I'd never had the chance to dive on a wreck and I think it was the best experience of my life, especially with a great instructor like Jonathan, knowing that it was a private dive! Jonathan was great and very careful about safety and everything.

We're returning from a week long trip to Honolulu and I wanted to take a minute to leave a review for Jonathon and his company, Ola Para Dive. As a life long snorkeling enthusiast, I have always wanted to try scuba diving but have been concerned with confident enough with safely completing the required skills. My wife and I tried snuba a few years ago which was a good introduction to breathing under water but was limiting and didn't address my concerns with accomplishing scuba skills. I've thought about doing a discover scuba trip for several years and finally pulled the trigger on our most recent trip to Oahu.

I selected Jonathon and Ola Para Dive based on the great reviews, availability and the reasonable price. After booking the trip, Jonathon got right back to me to confirm the best time and continued to have excellent communication.

On the morning of the dive, we met Jonathon at the charter dive boat and he was great about keeping us informed as to what to expect and took the time during preparations to start mentally preparing me for our skills practice. We departed from the harbor on time and once at the appropriate shallow dive site, Jonathon got me set up with gear, went over in detail what we were going to be working on and made sure I was feeling confident.

I'll admit, my first 20 minutes in the water was a little stressful and it took me longer than I thought to get comfortable but I have to give full credit to Jonathan. He remained calm and focused on my success and didn't let me even think about giving up.

In the end, I was able to check off a lifelong bucket list item and the experience of diving a vibrant coral reef with turtles all around at 40ft far exceeded my exceptions. If you have ever dreamed of trying or learning how to scuba dive but are nervous about being successful, then I highly recommend Jonathan and Ola Para Dive-his calm demeanor and professionalism will surely bring you success as he did for me.

Jonathan and the team were great. We had our two children who had never been diving before and they did an excellent job of teaching them the basics of diving. We did the two tank beginner dive which was perfect for our newbies. The second dive in particular where we saw multiple sea turtles and an abundant amount of marine life. I'd highly recommend this company and excursion.

Great group of people to dive with and loved the catamaran we were on (I think boats change on availability). Jonathan was great to work with as he was patient with us and just fun to be around. My son and I had a great experience! Jon was extremely helpful in coordinating our dive after a scheduling error. We did a small group 2 tank shallow reef dive, which was a great way to ease back into diving after a year off. The entire experience was top notch, especially the patient and informative crew members. We had a couple of equipment issues, but they were quickly remedied. AMAZING, Jonathan was such a great instructor. Very patient with my girlfriend who was a first time diver and not once was he ever stern, very laid back guy. There had been a three day rain storm on Oahu which caused the waters to be murky, he was honest about it and wanted to ensure we got a better experience and asked to reschedule which we did and I’m GLAD we saw eels, turtles, coral and TONS of fish. You cannot pass up on OleParaDive and if you can ask for Jonathan!!!

This is going to be a long review but completely worth it.

I recently went scuba diving for the first time while I was in Hawaii. I was a little nervous and scared at first. I booked with Ola Paradive that I found online. The owner Jon called because I booked a boat adventure but booked to snorkel. Jon and I talked and scheduled to do a private 1 on 1 shore dive.

Jon was very professional and energetic when I meet him for our shore dive. Jon explained everything we were going to do prior to getting any gear on. Jon was very responsive and knowledgeable. I enjoyed diving so much that I booked a boat dive for the next day.

Jon called to let me know that there was going to be another couple diving with us. We meet for our boat dive and Jon made sure that all our gear and tanks were on the boat. Jon made sure that our gear was on correctly before getting his own gear on and getting in the water before us. I didn't know what to expect since I never did a boat dive before. We dove in two different areas and Jon made sure we saw plenty of wildlife while we were in the water. I enjoyed the boat dive so much that I booked 2 more dives before I left to go home.

I dove in the same place on my third dive, but I saw different wildlife. I got to see a huge sea turtle, sharks, octopus, eels and plenty of fish.

On my 4th dive I got to see sharks, fish, octopus, sea turtle, eels and a lobster. I can't wait to go back and get scuba diving certified by Jon.

I would recommend anyone who wants to try scuba diving or go scuba diving again while in Hawaii to book a dive with Jon at Ola Paradive you won't regret it.

I took my 3 teenage boys and myself for a Christmas family experience with Ola ParaDive! I am a single parent and never thought I’d be able to afford something like this but amazingly it was a great price!!!! We all love the water but being under the water for that long was definitely a new and truly beautiful experience for us as a family!! I have to admit that I struggled at first with my mask leaking and got a little freaked out and was ready to quit, but Scuba John was amazing in helping me to feel calm, get comfortable, and trust him and his partner to take care of me and my ohana! I took one tank shore dive with Ola Para Dive Scuba. The location was Magic Island.

Magic Island was not really clear first 30-40 yards from the beach that day, however, after that, it got cleared and we saw pretty decent reef and fish. In fact, we encountered a manta ray!! It stayed with us more than a few minutes.

I rented a GoPro from Ola Para Dive, so I was able to take nice videos and my instructor took videos of me and manta swimming together with the GoPro. Very memorable experience :))

I had a shore dive with Jonathan at Magic Island Lagoon. He is a total professional and your safety is his number one priority. He’s great at spotting things that I would have missed, like a turtle resting in a small cave and various nudibranch which are always cool to see.

I'm not great with words, especially not public ones that live forever like a review, but Jonathan is worth getting over that for. I signed up to do my open water cert with him, something that’s always been a hope of mine but life always got in the way. For my first real dive ever, the conditions on this side of the island were terrible, but Jonathan went out of his way to drive me all the way to another side of the island and took me on what has to be one of the most beautiful dives any open water student has gotten to go on. I don’t know how I can ever express how grateful I am for that other than to wholeheartedly recommend Jonathan and OPD to anyone coming to the islands to dive.

To be honest, I had a bit of trepidation on my first dive. When I was a little girl, I lived next to a lake, and was on the swim team, so I thought yeah it would be no problem. But to breathe from the regulator and trust the equipment instead of just my lungs was a bit daunting. But, what helped me was that I was able to trust Jonathan and that he knows what he's doing. I am lucky that I had the opportunity to know him better as an instructor and also as a person before starting my course, and because of that, when I had fear, I was able to completely trust him and relax so focus on learning my skills, then also enjoy the beauty of the reef instead of worrying me. To someone else who is thinking of doing a certification course or just diving with Jonathan and OPD, I can wholeheartedly say that he knows the local places very well, is very professional and comfortable underwater, and the go make an effort so you can have a good time.
